One of nature’s most wary creatures, the black bear has a seldom seen but extremely prolific population in Maine.

 

At Moose Point Lodge, we offer guided bear hunts over bait, as well as opportunities for hound hunters to bring their dogs and practice their art in big beautiful country. With a large number of carefully crafted and carefully tended licensed sites, we offer unspoiled opportunities to our hunters. We offer a combination of ground blinds and tree stands to fit the needs of each hunter, and success rates are high for those willing to put in the effort to control scent and movement, and withstand the long sits often required to outsmart their quarry.

 

Allow us to show you a true traditional sporting camp experience, with three great meals served each day, comfortable accommodations in rustic log cabins, fishing for cold water gamefish in the morning, hunting your stand or blind in the afternoon, and wrap it all up with a campfire under that stars to swap stories and make new friends. Transportation to and from your stand is included, as well a pre hunt briefings, game retrieval, and transportation to a tagging station and local butcher. 

 

If you are looking to bring your own hounds, Maine law requires that all non-resident hunters employ and hunt with a registered Maine Guide, but we have you covered. Our guides know the region like the back of their hands, and will be a major asset on your hunt.
